Continuing airworthiness requirements for aircraft and aeronautical products
Purpose of Part 42
Part 42 provides the overall policy direction for the entire maintenance suite of CASR regulations and is based on the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) Part M.
Its main purpose is to provide for all the requirements necessary to ensure any actions performed support the continuing airworthiness of Australian aircraft.
It is important to note that Part 42 and any subordinate regulations do not authorise or approve the operation of any aircraft. Similarly, it does not cover aircraft design, manufacturing or certification.
