Safety Management System

A Part 145 AMO must have a SMS commensurate with the size of the organisation to ensure risks are assessed and mitigating actions are utilised to mitigate risks.

As part of the SMS, there will be monitoring and feedback systems to ensure the mitigating actions were effective and a review system to show visibly that the SMS is effective.

The system will have to be documented and utilise an internal reporting system that will be part of the overall risk identification system, providing reporting and feedback to employees to transparently demonstrate successes and failures of mitigating and corrective actions taken.
