Continuing airworthiness - maintenance training organisations
Purpose of Part 147
Part 147 provides a uniform set of national requirements for
organisations providing maintenance category and aircraft type
training. It is based on EASA Part 147 and includes the following
MTO requirements.
Establish organisation structures and management responsibilities similar to other organisations approved under the maintenance regulations.
Establish necessary qualifications for key employee functions within the organisation.
Provide maintenance training that meets CASR Part 66 specifications for initial licence issue and aircraft type rating.
Provide theoretical and practical aircraft maintenance training.
Establish appropriate relationships with maintenance organisations to access aircraft and aeronautical products for on-aircraft practical training if required.
Operate in accordance with its organisational approval, based on CASA’s assessment of its exposition.
