Continuing airworthiness - maintenance training organisations
Differences: CAR 30 Approval Transition
A major difference from other parts within the maintenance regulations suite is in the way MTOs will be transitioned to Part 147 approvals. Maintenance training organisations approved under CAR 30 will need to apply for and receive approval under Part 147 after June 2011, to provide training for Part 66 licensing outcomes.
However, recognised organisations that are already approved under CAO 100.66 will be automatically transitioned to a CASR Part 147 approval by CASA.
A major difference between current regulations and the new regulations in relation to approvals is that the new maintenance regulations provide for the formation of an organisational structure covered by a dedicated regulatory parts or subparts.
