Continuing airworthiness requirements for aircraft and aeronautical products
Differences: CVR
The Civil Aviation Act (CAA) provides for the protection of Cockpit Voice Recording (CVR) information. It also permits a person who is authorised by regulations to copy or disclose CVR information. Similar to the previous regulations, CASR Part 42 can authorise you to check equipment and ensure the CVR device is functioning and reliable.
To be authorised, you must be:
Checking on behalf of an AMO whether equipment used to make a CVR is functioning and reliable
A staff member within the meaning of the Transport Safety Investigation Act 2003
Trained with respect to the replay and analysis of CVRs
Briefed on the requirements of Part IIIB of the CAA 1988
