Differences: Organisation Approvals

A major difference between current regulations and the new Part 42 regulations is in relation to approvals. Currently, CASA approvals for design, maintenance, maintenance personnel training and aeronautical product distribution are all covered by a single regulation and approval (CAR30). For these functions, the new airworthiness regulations provide regulatory parts, or subparts, dedicated to the approval of organisations. A management structure and management systems are required and the regulations provide common organisation structural requirements for all organisations.

Within Part 42, there are specifications for the approval of two types of organisation by CASA:

Because CASR Part 42 will only be initially applicable to RPT operators, this course will not focus on provisions for Subpart F organisations.
