Differences: Airworthiness Reviews

A new requirement established by CASR Part 42 is the performance of an airworthiness review and the issue of an airworthiness review certificate. An airworthiness review consists of the following three steps:

1
Verify the aircraft records. Check the continuing airworthiness record of the aircraft to confirm Regulation 42.900 has been met. For example, review its modification status and compliance with airworthiness directives.

2
Conduct a physical survey to confirm the record data matches the aircraft configuration.

3
Following successful completion of the airworthiness review, a CAMO can issue a continuing airworthiness review certificate for the aircraft. If a CAMO issues a review certificate and has been the CAMO for the aircraft since the date of issue of the certificate, it can extend it for one year. This certificate extension process may be used by that CAMO twice.
