As of the 3rd March 2014, we are able to accept online payment for medical applications (many applicants have already paid online). Please direct your applicants to the CASA Website and select the "Make a payment" option.
We continue to receive a significant amount of payment forms uploaded to MRS On-line. Please be aware that payment forms must not be uploaded through the MRS System - this is to prevent any opportunity for fraud or misuse by holding credit card details. Please always email payment forms to avmed@casa.gov.au or fax to 02 6217 1640. Online payments are available, so this will not be required in most cases.
By now you should have received a letter and/or email about the DAME 2 initiative and indicated if you were interested in attending an information and training session.
The development of the MRS replacement has allowed us to introduce a greater measure of DAME involvement in the issuance of Medical Certificates. The DAME 2 program is designed to allow DAMEs to issue Class 2 Medical Certificates where the applicant meets the criteria.
We are taking this opportunity to perfect the procedure before the implementation of the MRS replacement where we plan to develop the system which ultimately will provide DAMEs with a much more information about the applicants, thereby allowing for informed examinations and decision making.
Details of time and venue for those that have indicated their interest will be forwarded this week if you have not already received notification.
We recognise that several DAMEs will not be able to attend due to the short turnaround and prior commitment. We are exploring options to provide further opportunities to engage in the DAME 2 programme. Please send in an email to clinical.governance@casa.gov.au register your interest for future training opportunities.
